Our mission is to educate and empower students through comprehensive physical education programs, promoting fitness, sportsmanship, and personal development within a supportive and inclusive environment.

The Department of Physical Education at Co-operative Arts and Science College was established in 1982 under the leadership of Sri George Thomas. In 1987, Sri George Thomas transferred to Nirmalagiri College, Koothuparamba. After his transfer, Dr. P Chathukutty joined the department as part of its faculty. Dr. P Chathukutty served in the department until his retirement in 2014. Following his retirement, Sri Praveen Mathew joined and assumed responsibilities as the Head of the Department.

The Physical Education Department co-ordinates the sports and physical education activities which help students to perform well in the sport and games events at University, State and National level. College also promotes intramural competitions to promote sports culture on the campus.

The college has adequate facilities including Kho-Kho courts, Badminton court, Volleyball courts, Fitness Centre equipped with Weightlifting equipments, Wrestling mats, Tug of War Gantry and a the college features a multi-purpose outdoor stadium equipped for Cricket and Football, along with a 200-meter track.

The department provides coaching and training to students in various sports such as Kho-Kho, Weightlifting, Cross Country, Powerlifting, Athletics, Taekwondo, Football, Cricket, Chess, Swimming, etc.

The department offers an open course titled "Health and Physical Education" for fifth-semester undergraduate students.

The college has produced a number of National Level Players including Aleena T S (Senior National Tug of War Gold Medal, All India Inter University Tug of War Gold Medal), Renju P A, Archana P V, Sibin Varghese (All India Inter University Tug of War Gold Medal) Janis Abbas (All India Inter University Weightlifting Silver Medal), Arshana Ibrahim (Inter University Powerlifting Silver medal), Akshay V (Kerala State Junior Kho-Kho team Member).
