Sri. Praveen Mathew, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Physical Education, joined in 2014. He completed his Bachelor of Physical Education degree (BPEd) with Second Rank and Master's degree (MPEd) from Kannur University. He also holds an M.Phil degree from Annamalai University and has completed a Certificate Course in Yoga from Kannur University. His areas of specialization include Athletics, Yoga, Football, Tug of War, Volleyball, and Basketball. He has 15 years of teaching experience in the field of Physical Education. He represented India at the International Workshop organized by the Tug of War International Federation in Delhi in 2017 and also attended an international workshop on Advanced Scientific Training in Football organized by TNPEU, Chennai. He has published many research papers in national level journals. Currently he is Serving as the Kannur University Sports Advisory Committee Member, Joint Secretary of Kerala State Tug of War Association, Secretary of Kannur District Tug of War Association, Executive Member of Kannur District Athletics Association, Referee Board Chairman of Kerala State Tug of War Association and National Referee of Tug of War Federation of India.
