CENTRAL LIBRARY AND INFORMATION CENTRE
College Library of Co-operative Arts and Science College has a long 42 years history on
parallel with
the history of the college. College Library provides the opportunity for self-education and
access to a
rich diverse and enduring source of knowledge. Our college library facilities and services
necessary
for the success of all formal and informal programmes of the institution.
Objectives:
- Support to teaching, learning and research initiatives.
- Conducts cultural programmes for the members.
- Provide career employment information resources to the users (through competitive
skills
development programme).
- Provide access to Internet, OPAC, and E-resources.
- Create a suitable atmosphere for the usage of library resources.
- Assistance in retrieval and reference of print material and E-resources.
Collections:
- Library houses 15023 books at present and it has a vast collection in all subjects.
- Library has 38 subscribed journals, periodicals related to subjects and also to
recreational
magazines.
- Library subscribes Malayalam and English newspapers.
The college library will be open from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on all working days.

Library automation and barcoding
By using linux platform library automated with open-source software koha and online public
access
catalogue is created. Barcode technology increases the speed and accuracy in operation.

INFLIBNET-N-LIST-E-Resources
Focused on providing e-resources through the membership with NLIST (The national Library
and Information service infrastructure for scholarly content) of INFLIBNET/UGC. Full text
electronic resources from academic societies. N-list: nlist.inflibnet.ac.in provides
6000+electronic journals and 97,000 electronic books. For E-Resources
National Digital Library of India
It is a digital repository containing textbooks, articles, videos, audio books, lectures,
simulations, fiction and all other kinds of learning media. The NDLI provides free of cost
access to many books in the Indian languages and English.
Library rules and regulations
- All students, teachers and non-teaching staff are the members of the Library.
- Students are allowed to the library only on production of their authorized
college ID cards.
- Career guidance/competitive skills development
- No personal belongings and textbooks allowed inside the Library.
- Students are eligible to borrow three books for fourteen days.
- Faculty members are eligible to borrow ten books for fourteen days.
- Books borrowed should be returned with in due date, if not an overdue charge
of Rs.1/-volume per day will be levied.
- Books due on a holiday may be returned on the next working day. No fine will be
levied in such cases.
- Reference books journals and magazines are only for consultation within the library
and are not to be taken out off library premise.
- Strict silence to be maintained and no group study allowed inside the library.
- Using mobile phones is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
- Online Journals- if any violation is reported in the access period of online
journals,
user name and password of users will be blocked for the entire academic year.
