Department of Physical Education

Physical Education is a powerful mean to encourage the development of motor skills, physical abilities, knowledge, reasoning, appreciation of the value (attitude-mental-emotional-spiritual-social) and habituation of a healthy life style that leads to stimulate growth and balanced development. Besides, it helps to achieve and enstrengthen a strong personality too.

The Department of Physical Education Co-Operative Arts and Science College Madayi has started functioning since 1982. From then the Department has participated in many events and specially focused on Handball, Kabaddi, Softball, Kho-Kho, Cross country and Athletics.

We strive to develop a community of fit, skilled and knowledgeable students, who value an active life style, embody the spirit of pure sportsmanship, practice positive character traits and pursue an active and agile life throughout

The Kho-Kho Men team of the college has won first place in the Kannur university Kho-Kho Championship 2015-16
The Kho-KhoWomen team of the college has won Second place in the Kannur university Kho-Kho Championship 2015-16
The Athletics Women team of the college has won Second place in the Kannur university Athletics Championship 2015-16
The Cross country Men team of the college has won Second place in the Kannur university Cross country Championship 2015-16
The Cross country Women team of the college has won Third place in the Kannur university Cross country Championship 2015-16
Vinod Kumar S (III BA History) has won Gold medal in the Kerala State Senior Cycling Championship held at Thiruvanthapuram and represented Kerala State in the National Championship.
A total of 14 .students of the college represented Kannur University in the All India Inter- University Championships During the year 2015-16
12Kho-Kho players of our college have participated in the State Championship.

Activity
The DepartmentPhysical Education Co-Operative Arts and Science College Madayi has conducted Kannur University Inter-collegiate Men and women Kho-Kho Championship and Softball Men Championship during the year 2015-16.
